Mel Myland is an internationally renowned puppet master. A leading authority of his craft, Mel is responsible for the construction and operation of some of the most innovative puppets in the world. With over 40 years experience in creating marionettes, hand puppets, rod and shadow and finger puppets, Mel has been responsible for bringing to life for the first time Claude Debussy’s La Boite au JouJoux for Kunstmuseum Solothurn, Swizterland, creating avant-garde fashion events with life-sized marionettes for Maison Martin Margiella, and operating backing dancers for a miniature Dizzie Rascal.
